Is the PC Concrete Limiter worth the price of admission?

I picked it up for $10 special intro. I have to say it is very good,although, I still keep going back to Ozone 5 for my mastering chores. It is good enough that I am considering experimenting with a mastering project done with only the plugs that came with Sonar. The biggest gap they had with me for a long time was no mastering limiter. Boost 11 came out and it is okay for a gentle boost but really turns harsh sounding if you hit it hard. Concrete doesn't seem to suffer from the same problem. It remains very transparent until you are just hitting so hard it crunchs and distorts. Concrete is worth every penny they ask right now. I'm not sure it would be worth the full almost $80 dollar retail price. Though that is still affordable compared to a lot of other third party limiters. My call........GET IT!

I am now using Concrete on all my mixes while laying down tracks.  It has a low CPU hit and sounds clean.  I too got it for $10, but from hindsight I would have paid the $49.  It is probably the PC tool I use most now. Like Sidroe, I tend to use Ozone or T-Racks Deluxe for mastering, but Concrete is well, it is just SOLID!

I bit and I like it. It's quality certainly isn't reflected in the price, put it like that.

Has anyone compared it to the Waves L1 and L2, which I currently use?

Yeah I have LJB. It's not quite in the Waves category in my opinion. I don't say that because it's not good....it's just different, but it does a great job. Now for the price, yeah, you definitely get a lot of bang for the buck out of it. It obliterates Boost 11. It's just not a super loud limiter like the Waves stuff. You can jump on the Waves L series pretty hard before they start to dirt up. With the CL, it dirts up a bit earlier. But it does really work well. I've been using it quite a lot. It's a good limiter for anything really and for the price, it's definitely one of the best limiters I own. Not quite a Waves or a PSP Xenon, but definitely acceptable and 1000 times better than Boost 11.

I think you'll find it worth the money Steve, and if you don't think so you can blame me, most things are my fault, I know that's true 'cos my wife told me..

Yes, it's true.    Unfortunately it takes talent for things to not be your fault.
