Speaker Grill cloth specifications


Hi,

 It seems like when I was a kid speaker grille cloth came with published audio specifications.

 I've been shopping original equipment style guitar speaker grill cloth at guitar amp parts vendors and I haven't found a vendor who supplies audio specs.

 I dare say that I have been considering other decorative cloth from our local fabric store. I've been open to this idea on the basis that I am aware that even purpose made sound absorption material seems inconsequential when it is only a very small fraction of an inch thick.

 I've been thinking I should start by considering how "transparent" purpose made speaker grill cloth really is.


 Does anyone have any specifics they can share?

    I used an old air conditioner grill filter thingy I found in the garage.  
    Looks and works good. Gives it kind of an "airy" sound. 

    ASUS P8P67, i7-2600K, CORSAIR 16GB, HIS 5450, 3 Samsung SSD 850, Win7 64, RME AIO.
