    Ooh. Can't wait!

Please tell me it'll come on 360K 5.25" discs.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

It's actually downloadable, but you may need to upgrade to a 56K modem....

Will it be compatible with Stacker and Carbon Copy?

Not sure bit, but I hear it breaks the 640K barrier. Far beyond what any of us will ever need.

Since there seems to be a wealth of questions here, I looked around for some answers and found these:

  • Processor Microsoft specifies a processor requirement of 486DX 66 megahertz (MHz) or faster. A Pentium central processing unit (CPU) is also recommended for best results.

  • RAM While 16 megabytes (MB) is the minimum amount of RAM required to properly install Win98, 24 MB is recommended for better performance.

  • Hard Drive Capacity The amount of hard drive space required depends on the type of installation. Upgrades from Windows 95 require a minimum of 195 MB free, but Microsoft suggests making at least 295 MB of space. FAT16 drives require a total of at least 355 MB and FAT32 drives require 255 MB.

  • Optical Drives The computer must have 3.5-inch floppy drive and a VGA monitor for Win98 to function properly.

  • Modem Users that wish to connect to the Internet in Win98 are required to have the modem capability of 14.4 bytes per second or better.

Sorry Olpal, you're hard drive is out of luck. You can check out this info before purchasing any hard drives: http://www.pcworld.com/article/127105/timeline_50_years_of_hard_drives.html

...must have 3.5-inch floppy drive and a VGA monitor

Well that leaves me out. I know I should upgrade, but damn it,. I paid $500 for this 13" CGA monitor!

Well, by the time the next generation comes out (hopefully by 2000?) I'm sure you'll have to chuck that CGA doorstop.
