Loved them...loved it...should be peachy. I wonder back then what poor Lol would've done if he knew his name would come to mean Laughing Out Loud...probably done just that.

If anyone's looking for this product, it has not been released, and Google returns no mentions of it other than the NI forum post. Coming from Sampletekk, we can probably assume it will be reasonably priced, but I'll be interested to find out just how much one can get away with charging for an ahh sample.

Pricing will be critical, it will be a bit of a one trick pony, for sure. It will probably sell a few because of what it is rather that what it can do.

Per "Worra" Larsson from SampleTekk here! Releasing these samples came from a totally different discussion I had with Eric, but one thing lead to another.... Yep, it's a one-trick Pony, but it's some Pony! Of course this shouldn't be compared with a multi articulation, 30Gb choir library of today, but on the other hand, the multi-articulated 30Gb choir library hasn't been used on THAT song! MSRP, 49 USD

Maybe I need to hear more demos but I didn't really care for it myself. Sounds overly compressed & non-dynamic. Almost sounds like the sustain pedal is stuck.

These choirs where produced back in -74 as a piece of the production for that song. You shouldn't really compare it with modern choir libraries that has loads of articulations, Legato mode, velocity layers etc. It is a one trick pony, but if you want the pony to make THAT trick, this is the one!

I agree. I know the story, heard the song many times. It sounded pretty flat to me too. Maybe the mixes are the problem, it also sounded a bit last minute/ thrown together.

Yup...sad to say but it really does sound...well...cheesy and of limited use. In it's day and on that particular song it was new, fresh and engaging. Now it sounds like something from a CZ-101. Sorry Eric and Per. Pass. Love most of your stuff tho:-)

Jeez, if they can't even sell a copy to our ol' pal it doesn't bode well for the product. He's normally like one of those people who compulsively collect unicorn knickknacks - you just gotta have the complete set no matter how cheesy a piece might be.

My snowglobe collection had to be curtailed when they became airline contraband. But I do feel safer now that they're no longer sold in airport gift shops.

I'm with olpal on this. Big Sampletekk fan here, too. I'm aware of how much work went into creating these samples, but in all honesty by current standards it just sounds like another generic choir patch.

I beg a difference, but then I'm biased...;) Most of the generic choir patches today are of the type "BIIIIG Choir sampled in a BIIIG cathedral". That gives you a more classical type of choir. These are produced to work in a pop song, so they sound different in my opinion. But, taste is a subjective matter, and I won't argue with the fact that some people don't like them and some people just go nuts over them, (in a positive way that is...:) )
