Track I made in Sonar with a load of hardware analogue synths

This is my first X1E track. Moved it over from Ableton where I'd come up with an arrangement for the better time stretching and mix down I was getting in Sonar. Plus I really like Pro-channel. http://soundcloud.com/crx.../attack-squadron-gamma

Welcome to X1.  As you can see, you can put together a track with ease.  The synth textures that you used are nice, but they never really develop into anything interesting.  It sounds a bit like a button that you would push on a synthesizer to hear what it can do except that it stays on the same level for minute after minute.  The drum beat doesn't have much variety past the persistent thump, thump, thump.  Is this something that I would want to dance to in a club?  Maybe, but it would need more than what I hear now.  If you're willing to be flexible, this song could be a monster if you are willing to write a change or two for it.  As it is, I feel that I've heard it all after two minutes.  What do you think?

    All the best,
    Lynn

Yeah it's a bit minimal I'll grant thee but I quite like setting things up and letting them run for a minute, tweaking one knob at a time. I'm at a stage where I've run dry with it. It's going to get bounced back to Ableton and see where that takes me. What would you add?

It doesn't matter which DAW you use if you don't know about song structure.  It's like building a two or three story house with no stairs.  You know the upper levels are there, but you have no way to get to them.  Put some stairs in your music.
