whats the best resolution settings for dual displays?

I am running sonar x1 producer. I am having alot of trouble with program crashing. Ive downloaded latencymon and got rid of a ton of stuff causing problems ( my wireless card and anti-virus were the worst culprits) I've got my latency down staying in the green but I keep getting really high hard pagefault resolution times. I am using 2 dell 2000fp connected by vga, using nvidia control panel. I had it set at 1600 x 1200 (native). I changed it to 1600 x 1024 and no high pagefaults but looks a little streched vertically. What is the best resolution settings for my set up?

processor intel core 2; ram 3.0GB; system 32-bit; windows 7 ultimate; Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0; Sonar X1 Producer; Superior Drummer 2.0

The best resolution is the native resolution. If you are cutting the resolution less than that to avoid stutters in your audio, that would be a kludge or a workaround. It is surprising that such a minor change in resolution would resolve the issue. If page faults are not interupting audio processes on your DAW, then you can ignore them.

Page faults indicate that you are using virtual memory i. e. accessing the windows swap file on a hard drive. More physical memory, or less memory intensive processes will tend to reduce page faults. If you are finding the problem with video at higher resolutions, that would tend to indicate that you might benefit from a more efficient video card or one with more on board memory. Do you have a dedicated video card, or is a video chip sharing system memory?

    ram 3.0GB

When running Win7 with 3GB of RAM, your system is hitting the VM Swapfile (in lieu of physical RAM)... which is killing performance.
No tweak will help in this regard.  Install more physical RAM...
