Dance Pop - Under Your Command (Makeover No.2!)

Ok, so I dug this little gem out of my hard drive nearly a week ago and decided to have another shot at arranging it and mixing it. Some of ye may remember it some not, but either way give your thoughts!! Dance track, but has some fusions of rock and pop.

Under Your Command

Nice one Cian. Like the hook too. I do think the kik is way too clicky (or should I say the clik of the kik is too loud). Nice tune.

Very catchy.  I like the vocal arrangement very much, and the song itself is very high energy.  As for the bass drum being too clicky, well, that depends on who you're trying to hook.  It might not sound so clicky if not for the rapid beats which gives it a bit of the machine gun syndrome.  However, I hear this a lot these days, so it's not so unusual, but it may be on the way to becoming predictable (like auto-tune in rap music).  That being said, this song is a winner.

    All the best,

I enjoyed this Cian... really good tune, performance and mix.  I liked some of the synth lines and textures a lot.  My personal preference would have been for a bit more thud in the kick, but this could be just a matter of taste.  It did not detract from my listening at all.  Nice work, buddy!

    Thanks for your comments.

I did find that this particular kick has a lot of natural "click" present in it and is probably only slightly over pronounced, I think it help the kick poke out a bit.

Philz, this "thud" you refer is the sub 100hz region no/yea! as opposed to thump?!

This one is not my favorite of yours, but I hadn't heard your ELO cover, and I listened to that and really enjoyed it :-)

    Hi Cian,

Very nice! A strong tune and the mix/arrangement/performances are all great.

Love the piano at the end. Well done.

    Hi, Cian,
Very cool pop rock song with a great hook and a driving dance beat!  I'm on my second listen.  Dynamite vocals and harmonies, classy synth work during the choruses, and I really love the bridge at around 2:00 and the piano outro.  Excellent.
Great production, as always from you, have a good one, buddy!
