Too soon for $50 buck expander for EZMix 2??

I mean EZMix 2 has been out for what...15 or 20 minutes or somethin and Toon already has a Core Expander pack for $49 semolians which makes one wonder why it wasn't included in the EZMix 2 release.  To make more money (natch) but I imagine folks might think it's bit obvious and calculated.  Plus when I went to the site this morning I couldn't find a detailed listing of exactly what you might get for your $49 other than a bunch of songs that seemed brighter and louder when whatever was being applied to them got...well...applied.  Your thoughts??

    Your thoughts??

You haven't figured out my thoughts in nearly 33K of posts?

Oh wait.... no one else has either.

OK, seriously. I'm with you on this one. Slightly P.O.'d that it was not included in my $49 upgrade. Makes it feel only slightly less than a $99 upgrade, no?

So for now, I'm just gonna wait until you plop down 49% of a Benjamin myolpal and then tell me it's the bees knees.

I'm with you on this on Pal.  I'm generally a fan of Toontrack but this was/is too close to the release of the upgrade to be had w/o irritating folks.

I was irritated! Why weren't these 36 presets included with the mix 2? I only paid 49 for mix 2 and now they want another $49 for 36 presets I might use!

but hey if you play harmonica they have an awesome preset for it! ;) lol

Probably figured they better drop the package before everyone spent their extra cash on gasoline.

I have the original Ezmix but have never used it much - did not think the presets were much good and you could not make enough alterations - when I heard they were upgrading it I thought this could be a good thing as it might become more usable - but will it be any good or is it just a vehicle to make you purchase expansion packs (so as to make it usable!!!!)
I have just checked the Toontrack website - if I upgraded to Ezmix 2 then purchased ALL the expansion packs, it would cost me EURO 429!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I suppose my question is, is Ezmix 2 any good as a stand alone package or do you have to buy numerous expansion packs to make it worth while owning??

I have to say as someone who has a great deal of Toontrack stuff, this whole Ezmix / Ezmix expansion pack scenario does not seem worthy of Toontrack and has certainly lowered my opinion of them - I hate to say this, but this has a bit of the taste of way Native Instruments like to deal with their loyal customers (and relieve them of their hard earned money) about it!

EZMix/EZMix2 are great IMO. They have some very usable presets and are usually tweakable.

Packs are part of the idea just like EZDrummer.

But this "Core" pack does reek of bait and switch. I can understand a Rap pack, T-Pain pack or any other such... but a Core pack? C'mon.

EZMix 2 is great with two knobs very easy to dial in a great sound.
Many of the presets are very usable and really nice with a little tweaking for taste.
