I like the song a lot, but it almost sounds like you are singing to a karoake track. Very well produced, slick sounding track, then an out of tune vocal with too much effects put on top of the track. Really like the music, but the vocals need some work, in my opinion.

Sounds pretty good.  As stated above the vocals need a little tightening up pitch-wise.  Good voice but it needs a little more presence.  Your vocals are pretty close, close enough you could probably make some corrections with V-Vocal, which will work well when your this close on pitch.

What is you mic and what are you running through, what's in the effects bin?

    Nice song.

    Daryl.

David - thanks for the honesty, my vocals aren't my strength so your comments will make me try harder. I usually add a harmony on trouble areas but I got a bit excited with my new DAW and went ahead and put this track out there. Probably prematurely, but I'm sure with some tweaks to the volume, vocal FX and harmonies I can make it sound decent. I'm glad your like the instrumentation Daryl - I've yet to use V-Vocal, what better time then now!! I used a AT2020 condenser mic running through an ART Pro-Channel. I have a stereo delay and minimal compressor (2.1 ratio)on the Vocal AUX/BUS

It sounds like you got a handle on what you need to do with the vocals.  This song  is good enough to get the star treatment.  I've heard other songs of yours, and I like your voice real well, so take as much time as you need and get it right.  The rest of the production is very good.  Just be sure to get the instruments and vocals to sound like they're coming from the same place.  Overall, damn good song.

    All the best,

I agree with what people say here. But your vocals are far from a catastrophy! It's a cool song and your voice in itself is really cool. The melody is kind of classic and modern at the same time. the little synth melody thing at around the two minute mark adds an excellent touch. In the super eight part, I'd love to hear the vocals with backup and harmony vocals, leaving the vocals as a pad layer and let the rest of the instruments shine through

Well done, I truly enjoyed the listen and as Lynn says, it deserves the star treatment! It's good!
