mc question

When I record an audio (ex:vocals) track with a microphone (to other recorded tracks-drums,bass,guitar) I can only record about 10 seconds before the vocals are out of time/sync with the other tracks. I have mc4 with a soundblaster audigy card, never had this issue until my computer had work done to it. I'm wondering if they re-set some settings?

You did not mention if you are using a USB mic.....or a "real" normal mic that is Dynamic or Condenser.

I'm kinda suspecting that you are using a USB mic from teh symptoms you are describing.

Generally the sync issues come from using tow sound cards.... the USB mic is a sound card to the computer and you are probably monitoring on the SB audigy. Each card has a different clock and they do not sync with each other. So... the audio drifts out of sync since the 2 clocks are not in sync.

The solution is to ditch the USB mic and to NOT use the SB audigy either. The best way is to get a USB INTERFACE. This replaces the internal soundcard, and allows you to input mics and even midi with that one interface...and it all stays in sync since the same card is used for in and out..... you can run many tracks all in sync like this.

Make sure the sampling rate of MC and the Audigy are the same. Sound Blasters usually default to 48,000 Hz @ 16-bit; MC defaults to 44,100 Hz @ 16-bit.
