Vstudio 20 - Guitar Tracks 4 pro

I installed V-Studio 20 with the onboard Guitar tracks software and everything worked fine. I then installed Guitar Tracks 4 Pro and got in a bit of a mess. I uninstalled everything and started again i.e. V-Studio with onboard GT4 everything is ok again. Should I uninstall the Guitar Tracks 4 that came with the VStudio before installing GT4Pro? I don't have a keyboard midi controller, should I purchase one before installing Pro4 or can I do it later? Operating system is windows 7. The reason I ask is that when I installed GT4 pro the last time I couldn't get the Vstudio to work as a controller and it would play piano notes when eg I pressed the track select buttons on the VS20. I assume the software thought the VStudio was a midi controller. I'm completely new to recording, which might be stating the obvious Any advice would be appreciated.

Steve, I don't understand how it's fixed but I reinstalled everything, V-studio20 along with all the software. I then installed GTpro 4 but didn't uninstall Guitar tracks that came with the Vstudio. I still had a problem when I got the message "There are no audio devices for the current driver etc etc" I went to options/audio but there were no playback or recording devices listed. I finally figured out this only happens if you have both Guitar Tracks4 and Guitar Tracks Pro4 open at the same time. Which ever one you open first uses the the audio devices which makes them unavailable to the other. The only way out is to close close both programmes. Hey presto the playback/recording devices (V-Studio 20) is back when you restart the programme. The only other thing I notice is that in guitar tracks 4 you can only select one track select button at a time, i.e. if track 1 is selected it is deselected when you press track 2 etc. In GTpro4 if you select track 2 track 1 still stays active etc. Is this normal? Still not sure about the midi but I can't find anyone reporting a problem using Roland A300 with V-Studio 20 so am in the process of ordering one. hope this makes some kind of sense?
