X1d: Still can't handle my m-audio delta 1010LT with the WDM driver

Well. THis will obviously never be resolved.

X1D 64bit running on W7 still can't work correctly with
my delta 1010LT card when using the wdm drivers.

An example: It take between 1 to 2 seconds before playback
                     starts.

Standard reply: use ASIO and (and forget about having two input sources set)

Like I said.......it will never be fixed.

not upgraded my main pc, so not sure how it will deal with 64 bit+1010LT

is it an issue with the drivers  ? if so ask m-audio . you run an older version of sonar, does it do the same ?

but why not use ASIO mode? just curious.

M-Audio changed their drivers a few years back. You used to be able to hard-monitor thru the 1010 on all 8 channels simultaneously. Now you can only do it on 2 channels. I can't tell from your post if this is exactly your problem. But if it is, that's an m-audio thing. Doesn't have anything to do with CW. Now the 2 sec. latency, that should be fixable. Lots of people use the 1010 and 1010lt. M-Audio's slow customer service should be able to help I'd think.

usually an interface is better with one type of driver over the other. this is not up to sonar and totally up to the companyy that makes the unit.

Ian , even with the routing options you can't do that ? just curious.

I lost faith in m-audio as I used an ozone, also.. which had bad drivers and no one there would listen and gave the usual lame "re-install" drivers rubbish even though they were told the drivers were the issue.  In the end I got a focusrite, maybe they fixed the issues, but 3 months without a decent interface "annoyed" me some what.

Playback starts instantaneously here running a 1010LT with WMD drivers. Well, definitely sooner than 1-2 seconds.

You can't monitor directly thru the 1010 using the delta control panel.  I believe you CAN monitor thru sonar using soft-switches, but that entails a small amount of latency and also not insignificant CPU usage.  Basically the win xp/7 drivers are less functional than the win98 drivers.  Nevertheless, my 1010 is still going strong after 10+ years of heavy usage.  It's not a bad product!

MOTU stuff isn't w/o it's problems either.  For example, my usb MOTU micro lite has to be physically disconnected and reconnected on each reboot in order to be recognized by the computer.  I went thru 2 rounds of MOTU 'service' and they couldn't fix it. I just live w/ it.  I'm still considering buying both an m-audio or a MOTU product for my laptop.  I have no faith smaller manufacturers are going to be any better!

I had a playback delay problem with the latest drivers for my interface, rolling back a version sorted it. My point is, it's more than likely a driver issue.

    Why not use ASIO:

    1) I have own 2 m-audio series card since 1999 and I have always used WDM without
        a SINGLE problem....stable like a rock.....until I my upgrade from S8.5.

    2) But more importantly. I record all our band's practice and I am running out of analog
input I want to use the usb connection of my gtr floorpedal (roland GR-55) and this means
using WDM since ASIO only support a single device at a time.

Do I care about timing problems? No because does are only practices.

    This is why.

    WRONG,

If X1 was a brand new software software I would agree with you  BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT

Cakewalk has beendoing software for 30 years now, at least 20 of which they have build and
    "increase" their recording software.

My original Delta66 "survived the version 9.0 to Sonar 4.0 jump (both setup to use WDM). My 1010LT
replaced it without a glitch in S4, smoothly joined S7, did a perfect transiotion from an XP-32 bit older
PC to a new W7-64bit+S85......but oops with X1 it is "Kaput". My only solution is to use ASIO.

And I still have S8.5 installed and running on ASIO on this system.....still flawlessly.

Oh and my driver is up-to-date as I re-installed a "freshly" downloaded copy 2 weeks ago.

All that to say that IN THIS CASE I DON'T BUY the "it's their fault" syndrome. Since S8.5 works this
confirms that this issue is an "X1 under the hood" problem, something that can be expected when
you touch the "foundation/heart"of a software program.

Cakewalk: You suggested that join the volunteer beta test group and, J...s, I would like it but I have
put this idea on the side as I am back to school. The same reason why I don't have time and
won't waste futher time trying to "blindly" debug it.

If you keep you customer support exchanges you wil find the detailed description of my problems,
something I won't add here again.

Using driver version 5.10.0.5077, playback has a very short delay from the time I hit the spacebar to the time playback starts, but not as much as a second or more.

Where are your system specs? Do you at least have a quadcore processor? What driver version are you using?
