SOLVED - Highlight single piano roll track deletes all!

If I select all the midi notes in 1 track and delete, it deletes all the midi data on all my tracks. Select All in a single PRV view for one track is selecting all the tracks outside the PRV too, so when I delete, it deletes everything. :( Not good.

It's not what we're doing, it's how you do it :)

If you are using the Edit-Select-All from the main menu, that is a global command and it will select the entire project(and always has as far as I know).  Clicking on the clip or double clicking the Track will select all the notes.  When in PRV just click dragging on the keyboard at the left from top to bottom will also select all the notes.  As long as you do it over the range of notes in your track it will select all.

When you open PRV it defaults to all notes selected.

Just click in the PRV pane *before* hitting delete.

CW says it's not really a bug, but a "feature" that was introduced in how the X1 UI was developed.

Yep Select-All means just that, everything. Click on the track number in the track view header to select all of one track.

I had hoped that CW would have at least made this default behaviour a user choice in Preferences.  As it's not in X1D I fear it may never be.  It ALWAYS trips me up, especially when the note colours don't change their shade much if they're selected or unselected.  As a feature it's dumb, sorry.

You have a good point Skyline_UK.  However, perhaps you should change your thread title to solved since this is not a bug?

    Best.

Thanks guys for posting. Sorry about the mistake but I could have swore I use to hit, CTRL-A (select all) in X1c and this would never happen to me. I wouldn't have posted this if I wasn't so sure but I guess I was wrong :(

It's not what we're doing, it's how you do it :)
