NEED MAJOR HELP!!! VST PLUG INS HELP
SO IM USEING "PITCH SHIFTER" ON sonar x1 but when ever i apply it to the vocals i want it on , it makes it sound unclear, like the microphone is cheap, any advice???

Try a different setting on the pitchsifter?
It sounds like your input on the PS might be overdriving. Maybe because you ARE YELLING. But no, the CLOGGY NOSE syndrome happens only after the pitchshifter.

In that case the last thing you need on your tracks is a pitch shifter! Describe your input chain in full, how did you get your vocals into Sonar?

well the hardware im using is a presonus tube pre and a fasttrack guitar/mic interface with a mxl v67 mic , and its not because i yell into the mic its only cloggy once i put on pitch shifter

No idea what "cloggy" means - sounds more like a plumbing problem rather than audio - but my guess would be to remove some lows/low mids if you want your vocal track "clearer". Pitch shifting is designed to shift pitch, which usually has no connection to clarity.

I do know after a certain % of shifting you lose Formant...maybe try to use v vocal.....

I fixed up a whole BUNCH of vocal tracks with V-Vocal. It works wonderfully - give it a try. It easily can move sections of vocal with a degree of movement and gradation with your total control from any section of audio track that you exercise it on.
In addition, V-Vocal is non-destructive to the original audio clip, as V-Vocal creates a clip for use in V-Vocal while preserving the original audio as a muted clip that sits underneath the newly created and edited V-Vocal clip. All you have to do is remove the V-Vocal clip to get your untouched original audio clip.
There are also several video tutorials on using V-Vocal to do a variety of edits to any audio clip.

Yes Robert, V-Vocal is my goto tool for pitch, timing & formant issues.
The issues the OP is having suggest to me it's an EQ problem. Maybe compression, mic technique, recording technique as well.

So - am I correct in understanding that you recorded the original vocal track through a bunch of processors? So that the processed sound is what you captured? If so, please rethink that - you should apply all effects and processing post-capture, so that you can make adjustments to everything without having to rerecord.
Please also elaborate on what exactly you said didn't work, so that we can understand and perhaps offer additional information that may help you.
