I'll try and do a commentary. And he's off. Nice use of the mouse there to get onto the cakewalk site and he's headed straight for the X1d download. He's just read the page about all the fixes and enhancements and woah that's one puzzled look. He mumbles 'whatever' and pretends to understand it all. He is now faced with four links. Which one will he go for? This is dramatic stuff. It makes the recent webinar look like watching the test card. More news as it happens!

Tonight I'll read the small print, read all the posts on this forum and then I'll try installing the update. I've never dreaded installing an update before. Grum.

Grumb, You have a very similar DAW to me, albeit I have 8Gb memory, which will make no difference whatsoever under the conditions of an install. If you follow the rollback instructions, which are very straight forward, the install is a total breeze, very quick and no glitches whatsoever. I felt that after the install, Sonar X1 start up time to be a little quicker and screensets load faster too. I thought I was possibly imagining this, upgrade fever and all that, but other users are reporting the same too. If you set your own restore point before you do anything, you will be good to go. Cheers Garry

The download has finished. He's just taking it all in. This is a big moment for the youngster. All his life has been leading to this point. This one moment in time. This is his destiny. We sit here watching like a schoolboy up a tree peering into nurse's digs and we forget the enormity of what is about to unfold. This is history in the making. If life on earth could be defined by just one thing then installing X1d would be it. I'm struggling to hold back my emotions. Imagine how he is feeling now? We are behind you. The nation awaits. Do your duty. Install with honour, passion and fingers-crossed. Focus. I've got a mental picture of a large ape throwing bones about. I can hear pounding drums. Install! Houston! Install!
