Opinions? Sends creation

I noticed a behavior that I thought was a bug but I believe is as intended.  I was checking to see if you could create sends while a quick group was in effect in order to facilitate creating cue mixes quickly and you can.  The rub was that you can also set up a situation where you will create multiple sends on a track to the same hardware output.   I thought at first that this wasn't intended so I quickly tried creating several sends on a single track to a common submix bus and you can do that.

I can only think of one reason to create multiple sends (on the same track) to a single bus but it really doesn't make sense in the digital ITB world.

Does anyone besides myself think that it might be better to rope off a sub mix bus once a send to it has been created on a track?

I see what you're saying and it makes sense to me but sure as eggs are eggs if CW did that someone would be on here ****in' & whinin' that they couldn't create two sends on the same track to the same buss for whatever reason and how could a pro level DAW not do that blah, blah, ad nauseum.......

Is this a thread about Mooch and Bapu or a cake bug?  The shoe kinda fits either way......   feel free to ignore this post.

Just came up with a situation where the ability to create two sends to the same output would be useful.

If you have an artist recording and you are using sends to feed a cue mix back to a recording booth you will probably want to create a Pre fader send to his headphones while tracking his part.  Then when playing back the performance if might be beneficial to create a Post fader send to play back the tracks.

That way you can have a "little more me" mix for tracking and a more blended version for evaluation.  By toggling the on and off buttons you can choose each version without messing up your cue mix level.

You came to the X1 forum asking for 'Opinions'.

Isn't that like going to the Arctic circle and asking for snow?

Anyway's mine is that I like flexibility and although I can't think of a reason where I'd use it I'd fight shy of recommending that the ability to route stuff anywhere should be restricted any further than it is.

I'd even go as far as to say I'd even like to be able to use grouped sub-mix at the track level rather than at the bus stage, it might seem like semantics because a bus is a bus is a bus, but sometimes I'd like to have control of a sub-mix right alongside the individual tracks feeding into it.

I guess that puts me in the more routing flexibility camp than applying certain restrictions to scenarios that even on the face of it don't seem to make any sense.

    If that makes any sense...

Need I remind you that this is the SONAR X1 forum and making sense has never be required, much less condoned in these parts?
