Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 or Quad-Capture For Sonar X1E

I'm using Sonar X1 Win7 64-bit, any experiences,  Is there anything else in the 100 to 200 dollar range  I should look at????

    I went the Roland route.

It's bullet-proof. Truly portable, quick and clean.

I've not had a worry with it since I plugged it in, I forget it's there.  It just works and it works flawlessly with everything I use not just Sonar.

TBH you can't go wrong with either of those units in that price range.

Thanks, I found out I can get a deal on the roland, so now I'm having a hard time making up my mind!

I replaced a Delta 44 with the Quad capture about 4 months ago and have not had a single problem. Considering the cost of the unit its hard to complain. Latency is about the same as the delta 44 but I did have occasional problems with the M-audio drivers.

Hey guys, do you have usb noise with the Quad?
I bought an Alesis io2 express but too much noise.
I also was cheking out the Scarlet 2i2 but no midi and I maybe will use a midi keyboard.
What can you tell me of the Quad? I will use it mostly with an acoustic bass and with a dynamic mic.
My I use a mixer with it?
THe Scarlett comes with a good reverb software, what about the Quad?

    Thanks!

I have the Scarlett 2i2 and I can tell you, it is FANTASTIC. Great drivers (make sure you download latest drivers from focusrite's website). Guitar Center has it on sale for $129.99 right now if you decide to get it:  http://www.guitarcenter.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-2i2-USB-Audio-Interface-107041253-i2162367.gc Dont know how long its gonna last...

I actually have a Mackie Blackjack for doing mobile recordings and it works really well. The Onyx pres are fantastic! I know Mackie has had a so-so rep in the past when it came to their drivers but I 've never had a problem.  I also have a Mackie Onyx 1220i mixer in my studio and that's been great for me as well.

The Blackjack is about $150.  No MIDI but if you use a new-ish keyboard or controller it will probably be USB so you won't need MIDI cables.

We'll not risk another frontal assault-that rabbit's dynamite!!!

Mmm, here in my city I can get easily:
    Quad Capture
    Scarlet 2i2
    NI Komplete Audio 6
Price is ok for all of them.
Just thinking more about NI and Quad for the midi.
It would be nice to know which of these two sounds better and make less noise (especially usb noise).
    :)
