Is This an Envelope Bug? ...Or am I doing something wrong? [My Discovery/Error]

OK...

I've been enjoying the X1 ability to mark a time region (click drag in 2nd quarter from the top of the clip) so that I can quickly add four nodes to work that area...

Yes, it's easier ... I wish we could set characteristics for the resulting nodes etc.), but all too often...

Instead of greying (highlighting) the area I select, I get a box being drawn as if I was using lasso and it appears to do nothing...

What am I doing wrong?

The smarttool is selected and I'm click-dragging in the only area that can be used for such...???

I just discovered that I must drag in a straight horizontal line. Allowing the drag to move in a vertical direction causes the change to useless (?) lasso...
