X1 and VCC

Sonar X1, all versions I've used with it, have a real issue opening a project running Slate VCC. As you know, you often run many many instances of the channel plugin and a few mixbuss ones. I have sessions with 40+ instances or more. I often open the projects hoping it'll open. Often I have to try 3 times. I've sent a few of the automatic reports in. Anyone else experience this by any chance? Anyone from Cake have any info on the plugin? Perhaps it's Slate that needs to pay attention to Sonar?

fooman, I too have had issues with multiple instances of that plug. I actually don't really like it anymore to be honest. Yeah, safe to say Slate probably needs some more attention to Sonar. I'm having a horrible problem with SSD 4 drums at the moment. It crashes every 10th time I try to load instruments while audio is playing. I posted on their forum in hopes someone from tech support would see it and at least give me something to try...but the only people responding to me have been some of my friends that are on the that forum who are also on our Sonar forum too.

I haven't tried to use a Slate support ticket which I probably should attempt. I haven't done it because I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem. It seems it may be just me and one other person. But so far their forum is useless other than my friends bumping my post to keep it in the limelight.

same here, no problem loading 40+ vcc channels w/ several mixbuss instances in 32b or 64b projects.

I received an email this week where they (Slate ) described SSD 4 as a ram hog. They said in about a week or 2 they will have an update available.

I haven't used VCC with X1D yet, but prior to that no problems.

Just got VCC to give it a shot about a week ago and am running 18 instances of channels and mixbuss with no problems so far in X1D 64bit only.

I've heard anecdotally that vcc is cranky in sonar. Don't know anything more concrete than that, though. But I am nervous about spending big plug in money these days til I hear good news about compatibility. Take Melodyne; brilliant piece of software, but doesn't work with sonar, and it turns out by Melodyne's own admission to be their error not cakewalk's. I know these things are tricky, and I'm not angry or upset, but I'm also not rich enough to have a big shelf full of Melodynes that I can't use.

If anyone knows better, please tell us all. I'd really like to get vcc, but I want to be confident before I start spending.

No problems here with VCC, I did however wait till all the bugs were ironed out and grabbed late in the game. But so far solid as a rock

Don't get me wrong, once the projects load it works fine and dandy. It's just the loading that gets me. I have no idea if it actually IS vcc. I just see that it's always the 'blame' in the error popup cake had put in for X1. Perhaps it's another culprit I dunno. I asked about this on the Slate boards to no avail. I also submitted a ticket in their support system with no response. I just live with it now. Only happens at mix time. Never had a crash until I start to pile them on. John T, I run Melodyne on almost every project I do. I apply it to clips, not tracks. I also bounce the clips once I'm done tweaking the vocal lines (or bass line I once successfully used it on haha). The ONLY time I had issue with Melodyne was way back in S7 when I used to run it on the FX Bin and had too many going at once.

VCC 100% solid here - I use it 100% of the time, 60+ racks and 12 or more buses. No issues whatsoever. Do you guys have the latest updates?
