I am thinking about buying a Presonus Audio USB .. any feedback?

Anyone have experience with the Presonus Audio USB .. comments or concerns?

I am looking at this instead of trying to record thru my Realtek onboard soundcard.

I appreciate your input. ... Baydon

I had a Presonus firewire 4x2 box a few years ago that litterally popped and then smoked!  I called Presonus and they said it was probably a capacitor and that I could send it in to be repaired.
I have never had a piece of music electronics go up in smoke so I never got it fixed and moved on.  Just sayin'

I bought a Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 Audio Interface/Mixer and couldn't be happier with it. It is an analog/digital mixer that is also an audio interface, which is a dual direction firewire mixer to and from the mixer back and forth to Sonar X1 so you can mix both 'in the box' and/or back on the mixer hands on - very cool! In fact that's it in my avatar photo to the right, small and compact but 16 channels, 4 sub groups and a main stereo slider, as well as boat loads of other goodies on board.

I used presonus for years - tho years ago.  Great bang for buck then, and the company was very responsive.  At the low end, I would use them.

You don't state how much you want to spend, but for $200 you can get the TC Konnect 6, which is a step up soundwise from most of the lower end stuff.  TC is Firewire, however, not USB.
