Audio device disappears after upgrading to Sonar X1d

Hello all and thanks in advance for the guidence!

I had a working installation of Producer X1c until I upgraded with the new "d" update.  Now I get the "Silent buses detected" message when starting X1d Producer and no devices show in my Input or Output audio devices.

My hardware is as follows:
Motherboard - Asus M5A 78L-MLX series
Processor - AMD Athlon II X2 250
O/S - Windows XP SP3 32-bit
Soundcard - E-MU 0404 / PCI, driver vs. 5.12.4.1104
XP Device Manager still shows hardware and driver properly installed, and I went back through the ASIO setup on the E-MU DSP software to confirm it was still setup as it was when it was working correctly -- No improvement.

Please let me know if you need additional information.  This has been perplexing.  I appreciate any suggestions!

Sounds like you may need to do an audio interface driver uninstall & reinstall. I have no idea as to why, but that's where I'd start if I were you.

Just out of curiosity, did the X1D install change the named of your E-MU sound card on the bus outputs?  What does the output of your main bus say it is pointed to?  It may just be that some preference customizations were reset with the patch.

That was the strange part.  After installing the X1d, all audio devices disappeard including the onboard sound card.  Once I completely removed the E-MU driver and reinstalled, then both audio devices reappeared.  It had me baffled.  Everything seems to be working now.
