Is non linearity possible ?

Hi folks - I am kinda new here - but have been lurking for years - picking up invavluable Sonar info whenever possible.

I have been using the play list feature live on tour with my band for years  and have grown to deeply appreciate its virtues and potential.

My question is this -
Is it possible -in the future to bake up  some sort of window in Sonar that plays sections of a single .cwp in a non-linear sequence ?  Sort of like a play list .set  , EXCEPT this would be ONLY one .cwp  at a time.

Like - one would define any number regions - intro / chorus , verse /etc etc etc - which would also of course inherently include the tempo/time sig/meter/key info      and then list the regions in a user defined order.
The playback would progress smoothly through the list of defined regions  .  This would allow for quickly and easily auditioning  of any number of composition arrangement possibilities.

As Sonar is now , attempting radically different  song arrangements  with complex tempo/meter changes in the track arrangement window  is a precarious challenge - certainly much easier than razor blade editing tape , but not as easy as it could be in this modern age of computing.

To my reasoning , this shouldn't be an impossible feature , we already have a play list type feature that works perfectly , and a matrix window that is inherently a billion times more complex than a potential  "Arranger" view .

Thanks for listening !

Check out the Matrix view. Its for non-linear work.

Yah Matrix View. You'll have to do your homework setting it up, but then you'll have great control over this.

Cubase has a slightly better way of doing this for what you're describing in particular, but the Matrix View will give you even more options.
