live sound recording w sonar

does sonar bypass the bus when you start recording,
. If a direct button is pushed on a strip, that buss is "locked out" and can't be used.i would think 
 
 im trying th find a solid diagram of the best way to use my inputs for guitar, and how to set up your sonar, no love from sonar on Cake TV on using the bus doing live recording and how.
 i watched danny ,s video, wish it had pt 2 the guitar god  track template comes to mind.
 sorry im stuck here on my next move.other than just plug in play

    I don't understand your question.  At the point when you are recording (live or not), what do busses (in SONAR) have to do with anything?  The only thing I think you should be concerned with is the signal going into the input track(s).

    What is it that you are trying to get a bus to do while you are recording? 
    Are attempting to record live while monitoring fx hosted in SONAR?

    yes but its just not very practical.
     iv changed direction to external fx
