Piano Roll issues and more

Lets say I'm working on a MIDI clip, I want to edit it on piano-roll, I double click on it,  piano-roll bottom screen appears...EMPTY...its like I have to resize, search, locate where the note and events are, make nooooo sense , make me working slow!
Also in the piano roll editing environment, magnetic attraction(force, whatever) and snap to grid...well since X1 I dont know how to manage PERFECTLY those things...
I cant remember now, but I think a function for MSR from the Piano-roll view its gone...
Finally, probably Cakewalk and other sequencers are trying to imitate Pro Tools using side vertical panels and enforcing wide-screen type monitor view, but notice that Pro Tools its still a multi-window application, and the side panels are just for not so important things like regions, wave file and hided stuff, the thing here its that I don't know why its cakewalk compromising so much horizontal space???, a 4 minutes, 16 track project cannot be totally visible with volume, pan, meters,MSR, insert effects and I/O in a 19 inch monitor...
...two silly MIDI or Audio icons and two unnecessary Track Numbers notification if you use a control surface...
Thats OK if you buy a 27 inch wide-screen monitor or use dual monitor system, but what If I use a laptop, but what if I just have a common computer screen?, as Dan Worhke from Pro Audio review wrote (volume 17,issue 7, July 2011) you will not get skylight really potential on those screens(a collapsible ,obstructive docked system its what I get)...
