Possible new feature?
Hi everyone, I'm just curious if you feel this would be a good new feature request. I know if I'm the only one that tries to push it through, it will of course get laughed at. LOL...well, you'll laugh at it anyway...but...have you encountered this and do you think this would be good? Ever go to quantize something and the quantize window appears over top of the notes you are working with? Sometimes, quantize may not move my notes right and I'd like to be able to see that without always moving the window out of the way. What if we had X-ray enabled for that window or some sort of see-through window for that Quantize option? But it wouldn't work like X-ray...it would just be see-through to where we could still press the buttons etc. For me personally, it's one of my pet peeves that I have always hated. That thing seems to pop up right on top of where I'm working all the time and I have to move it. I just want to see what it's doing when I execute the quantize function. Do you think any of you would use anything like this? Is it worth submitting as a feature request? -Danny

Implemented full time in the piano roll ? Vertical dash lines, you may toggle that shows (of diff color) 1/4, 1/8, 1/16..etc.. including triplets perhaps..

That is an excellent idea. I hate it when windows pop up over what I am trying to do, regardless of the software I am using. Tom

I was setting up the piano roll, and found that, in View - Show Vertical Grid Lines, and set up the Grid resolution enables such feature already! Cheers.

tomixornot, I think you may be misunderstanding me. I have no problems with the grid or its resolution. My problem is, when I press the Q button to bring up the quantize window, it blocks my note view. I'd like it to be transparent so I can see the notes move when executing the quantize function. When you press Q, the window pops up and blocks where you may be working to where you have to move it each time. Having an X-ray view of this would be quite helpful so I don't have to move the window or scroll the track. -Danny

Danny, sorry for the mixed up :) I was having problem where after the quantize, some of my notes move to the wrong place due to bad timing. So, I was hoping to catch these notes in the piano roll before the quantize, and clean them up first. Viewing the grid line enable me to see how far out my notes are.

Not a problem, you had me so excited that I may have missed something that I fired up the grid thing to see for sure. LOL! :) -Danny

I can get behind that feature request. It's kind of common for windows to pop up over what you need to work on. This is a cross platform issue so SONAR isn't alone in this. I think that the rub would be how to figure out what you want to work on so as to not cover it. The transparent idea could work.
