2 Measure Count In

OK,
Since my metronome decided to quit, does anyone have another way that I might be able to get a 2 measure count in on an existing project with about 30 tracks?

Anyone know of a 3rd party nome VST that might offer a count in mode?
Is there a way to insert 2 empty measures at the beginning of all the tracks at once, then I could at least use a drum loop as a metronome for 2 measures.

Maybe I could just start a new project, play the parts, export. Then import into the existing project and chop, slice and dice them into place.

Just thinking out loud here.
Seems like a lot of work just for a few snare parts.

Any ideas on how to maybe wipe out the old metro and have Sonar rebuild a new one?

    Seriously,

No metronome whatsoever?  Since the earlier thread about losing it in the drum addition project?

Just asking - Gone? *Poof* Works nowhere?

    POOF!!!

    Gone.
This happened to me in Sonar 6PE and I went to using drum loops as a metronome and just started my recordings at measure 2.

I was kind of hoping it would work by now.
Maybe now that I shut the studio down a few hours ago, it'll rest overnight and hopefully work in the morning.

EDIT: Just to clarify. no metro anywhere. Not even in a new project, empty with one track, metro buss routed to Main routed to interface out.

You can insert measures at the beginning.  Make sure no track or time range is selected.  Go to Project>Insert Time/Measures and take it from there.

On my Dell laptop xps l502x Sonar X1 is without any metronome.
What I do is insert a drum vsti[ez/ssd] and rewrite the first 2 bars with closed hight hat......annoying but it works.

On same laptop the audio will not work after opening any project, until I re-apply in prefferences EVERY TIME.

On my 2600k desktop,X1 is so stable and cool its scary.......everything is PERFECT.

I do think X1 is very machine specific.

    Thanks Guys.

Yeah, I decided on the add 2 measures lastnight but the DAW was already off and I still felt like ranting.

You can do the insert measure thing....

    OR...

You can set the snap to grid to "Measure" and simply drag the track contents to measure 3.   Waa Laaa... you now have a 2 measure count in space.

I ALWAYS, ALWAYS,  ALWAYS, use a 2 measure blank/count in on all my projects and start on M3.

This gives me time to click RECORD, grab my pick, and get the time groove.... before the music starts.

    OK.
I added 2 measures at the beginning, inserted a drum loop for the 2 measures.
Recorded my last 2 snare parts and for poops and giggles tried the metronome.

Seems like it wants to work for now.

Clip envelopes still a no go but at least now I know, never use the metronome and always use track envelopes.

Thank god I didn't have someone hanging over me waiting for his song.
Wondering "Why don't you just use PT? I't's right there."
