Why can't cakewalk create a new installer?

Hi, I have never installed X1, however I bought it and expanded since it first came out. (I have been working on a long project in 8.5 and had no desire to start learning a new software)

I'm kind of ready now to install it, however, reading the instructions / issues people have in this forum installing it with all the various patches etc, I am just wondering why Cakewalk can't just produce a new installer.

The general concensus is that X1D is "what X1 should have been from day 1" as far as I can see from the posts.  It seems to be the first version that people are overal happy with, no?

So why not make it the default installer for X1, and get this fist install neat, clean and tidy for everyone.

I agree wholeheartedly, but what I'd really like better is to have the updates as a program feature, rather than a separate process. Maybe X2? Just dreamin' in the oven I guess.
