Battery 3/Sonar X1 Producer Issue

Hi All,

This may seem a simple issue to you more seasoned users but its driving me nuts!

I have inserted a native instruments Battery 3 track into Sonar. The output level from the Battery kit was a little low and I wanted more input into the Sonar channel. I then adjusted the master output level on the Battery kit. The problem comes in when I stop and restart the track, the Battery drum kit master out, reverts back to its previous setting. Its almost like Sonar is sending out a program change command of sorts... Very confusing!

If anyone could help I would be hugely appreciative.

Derek

I just tried that here and the Battery master out stayed wherever I put it, regardless of whether Sonar was stopped, started, re-starting, or whatever.

I suspect some automation got written accidentally. Try this: Click on Automation Write, start Sonar, set the Battery master out where you want it. Let Sonar play for a while. Stop and "rewind," then see whether the setting "sticks" or not.

I think this was a bug in an older version of Battery. Try updating it.

I have seen this happen: on my system it has to do with the modulation wheel position on (specifically) an M-Audio 49 USB keyboard controller. It seems the main volume output of the plugin is mapped to the mod wheel and will go to the current position/ level when you press play. The way around this is after I record I turn off the MIDI input, or turn the mod wheel to fully open/ on. I imagine it would be the same for any controller with a mod wheel.
This behaves the same for Kontakt.

This happens with Sonar and Battery. I have the latest and newest version of Battery and it still happens.
The solution is to turn off the setting in Battery.
On the Battery VST GUI: 1. Select 'File' on the MENU bar.
                                          2. Drop down to select 'Options'
                                          3. On this 'Options' page, look in the lower right area, and
                                          4. The 'Field' Use CC7/CC10 data on Master Volume/Pan; click on the yellow button to turn it off.

I have been seeing some awesome chime ins on solutions here lately. I come in here and try to help people often, and sometimes a need some help as well, but I am seeing more and more people come here and nail the prblem on the head for folks with issues.

Simpleman, if this is the solution, good form!

I will remember this if I need t implement that with Battery.
