[Solved] Edit Filter Background Colors

[solution] In menu edit\preferences\colors the entry "Ghosted clip background" lets you set what color the background of a clip will be when it is 'hiding'.

Using forum search I see that hits on the subject of "Edit Filter" ended last year so I wonder if there is a solution to my problem I can't find through research.

When I want to edit, say, the expression envelope (or volume, or pan, etc) on a midi track, the selected envelope lights up, the clip background goes dark grey, and the midi note events within go black.  That makes it really hard to see the note events over which I am trying to tweak the envelope.  It seems to me that it's important to keep enough contrast between the clip background and the notes to be able to see them easily.

I like that the edit filter constrains my interaction to the specific task I have set out to do, but I need to be able to see how I am affecting the relationship with the underlying program.

Did they come up with a UI tweak for this that I missed, or have we just accepted the status quo?  It just feels like a big workflow issue.

Thanks,
Steve
