Funny sound when looping an audio clip

Sorry if this is a real newbee question. I created an 8 bar rhythm guitar clip, and looped it. On playback there is a distinct "beat" every 1/8 note. I looked at the loop construction - it is sliced at 1/8th notes. I changed it to "no beat slicing" and the sound disappears. Can anyone tell me what is happening here and why? (Sonar X1 Studio , 32 bit, running on a plenty fast machine in Windows 7) Thanks ++

Bump: 25 views, and no answer? I know it's not a critical question, but I would really like to understand the beat slicing functionality so I can use it properly. Reading the manual doesn't help. Thanks again

You are probably getting clipping when the clip is sliced.

I would make sure the guitar lo is EXACTly 8 measures and right clip and select "bounce to clip".

then, right click it and select grrove clip-
