2 things, 1 good + 1 bad, that i've noticed about X1d Expanded so far

i installed my X1d Expanded this past weekend. 1 amazing thing i noticed was that projects that had been previously maxing out my CPU were now playing SMOOTHLY! very very happy about that development. one glitch that i did find was that FX Chain presets that were created with X1c were crashing X1d if i wanted to ADD one to a current project. if the FX chain presets were already a part of the project, they DID NOT crash. i like the new Bug Reporting system Cakewalk has implemented. overall grade for me for X1d Expanded so far: A-

3.5 Ghz AMD 6-Core/16 gigs RAM, Roland Quad-Capture, Win 10, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Komplete 10, z3ta+, Z3TA+ 2, Rapture, Maschine 2.7 (MKI & Jam), Melodyne 4 Studio, Ozone 4, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar 2, Schecter Damien Elite, Fender Sonoran w/TronicalTune Plus installed, etc

Wet- I too noticed the more reasonable CPU behavior - that was an unexpected treat. I had to freeze tracks just to get the project to run before. Now, its like having a computer upgrade. Well done Cakewalk.

I have just the opposite. With X1d I now get a high CPU usage warning and the yellow bar in PERFORMANCE is half way up. Also takes forever (2 min) to load a simple project. I have to look further in to it as there may be something else to blame tho...

Soens, I notice you're on XP. Worth looking at  move up to '7, IMO... Sonar has never run as well and as stably as it does for me now, since Expanded.

Significant changes in performance - whether better or worse - since the update suggest to me a setting somehow getting changed somewhere.

It's in the works. XP has been stable enough for me thru X1c. Since X1d everythings changed. I can't blame Sonar tho because all my other programs are doing the same thing. Something else is at work here. I even have the CD ROM door opening for no reason bug, so it's time to move up.
I'm sure it's an evil plot by major software pubs to force upgrading so they can retire millionaires... so who am I to stand in their way?

Please create a problem report and send in one of those presets that crashes so that we can repro it.

Yup, Win 7 64-Bit and X1d Expanded is the most stable and smooth implementation to date. Screensets seem to change quicker, CPU usage seems less, projects seem to load quicker. I know this is all subjective, but others seem to be having the same experience too.

Watch out for Cake's strategy now 64-Bit Rewire is implemented. I have a feeling the next 2 or 3 years will the most exciting yet.

@Noel: Sonar automatically produced a problem report and uploaded it the other night. i can send a preset, possibly later this evening. @John T: i stand corrected; my drummer switched my ASIO panel settings from lowest latency to low latency, without me knowing it. but the overall performance is better, just not as better as i had previously thought

Yeah, I agree that it all feels a bit better oiled.
