How to bypass my computer sound card? solved

I've now gotten quite used to the better quality of my (USB controller) BR800 sound card and want to bypass the computer playback on sounds other than Sonar.
EG listening to mp3's, working with Audacity or listening to instructional and other videos.
Can I do this?

go to your control panel and then sound options. you may be able to change default playback device there
