Suggestion Box

Is there a formal method to present a feature request to the bakers?  I think I have a real keeper.

Feature requests are definitely a good thing. However, if you have a really great one, sharing it on here can often prompt others to send in more requests for the same thing. Cakewalk have said they do take into consideration the amount of requests they get for the same or similar features when planning.

@ great things I think everyone might appreciate??  Beefed up EQ on the pro channel EQ or somewhere.  Let say I load up a reference track and want my vocals to have close EQ to the reference.

    a) EQ compare so it measures the differences and makes a guess at adjusting my EQ to make my track sounds like reference track

lets say I want to load up a bunch of templates in my pro channel EQ like for vocal or snare or whatever.  Can I load presents from the interface in pro channel? Especially to copy from one to the other.

    b) presets and save and recall from pro channel EQ interface

lets say I am looking at the live audio spectrum in the expanded EQ in pro channel EQ.  I touch anything else it goes away and I have to go back in and expand to get the spectrum display back up.  is there already a way to keep that pinned opened so I can make other adjustments to the track and still monitor the wave form live?

    c) if not already there allow constant view of pro channel spectrum analyzer view.

Lets say I want to add a repeat effect like able one beat repeat or glitch.  IF I can find a VST that I can understand and does what I want, I have to trigger it with midi and fart around forever to get it to only affect the area I want the special effect.   Sonars Region effects are absolutely fantastic for this if the VST supports that.  I want a beat repeat / glitch/ vinyl effect vst integrated with sonar so I can easily use envelopes to bypass or start the tempo synced effect.  Partner with someone if you must but there are no good envelope and region friendly vst glitch effects.

    d)  Cakewalk beat repeat / glitch tempo synced VST effect with full envelope support and not requiring midi triggering. (also support region effects).

I have used the new vocal sync tool already on a produced track to line up back ground vocals.  That is a winner!!!. keep tuning that for sure.

One criticism of all the small add ons and features approach is that it can seem disorganized.   Don't worry, that is why I like your DAW.  You keep up.  don't waste time , there is synergy and creativity in how you are developing, keep it up.

With all the features I think the full weight, features, sound, ease of use is making sonar head and shoulders above pro tools and logic.  I don't see how people would go back to something like that once they experience the speed and workflow of sonar?  I am so happy to be a satisfied customer.

Eric,  I admire your enthusiasm...  but you've dragged up a question about feature requests from over 3 (three) years ago.

We now have an entire forum for feature requests here.

Please feel free to post there, one thread for each idea so other members can vote on them.
