Can't get any sound!!!
Recently bought MC4 from a store in town, and i can't get any sound from my sound blaster, and i can't get my Bubba Wilson DJ master USB mike to record and audio. Do you think speakers or headphone might help? Why is only midi mapper the only thing that i have under midi devices. Oh and last, I read all the manuals, and already know everything so don't try to tell me it's my Windows 3.1 OS cause windows recorder works just fine! Anyone there, why hasn't anyone answered i post like 49 seconds ago.

Since you obviously know the answer.... you did say you knew it all... I would suspect that this is an operating system issue. I suggest an immediate upgrade of the OS to 3.3 as it has better DOS prompts and command com has better bug fixes in it. This new version will only solve the problem completely however if you format the drive before doing anything else..... so I suggest that you get to the command prompt and type FORMAT C at the prompt... press enter..... good to see you back....!

I've been around just quiet these days. I primarily use RB for what i am doing now so i hang there a lot to keep fresh and learn. I am using X1 (e) D a bit as well, how you liking it Herb? Oh and Greg, I recently upgraded to ASIO5All!

Rob good to hear from you.... people disappear and I just assume life got busy or hard for them and they have more important priorities to deal with for a time. I have X1 but have not yet upgraded to the "d" yet... I have it downloaded but have not applied the patch. I keep thinking I might do that fix, then I read the horror stories, and think maybe not.... However, I also did not encounter the horror stories that many claimed they were having with X1..... so I might do that upgrade shortly. I have been short of time recently. My business got a bunch of work and that has kept me busy. We're (me and my cowriters) trying to rework 2 songs and have been occupied with that as well. I need to write and compose some new stuff. I might need to go to the RB site myself as I tend to use it quite a bit as well.

I'm running X1D, but not put it thru it's paces yet. I have had some problems with X1, but not nearly the stuff that some have had.

I still an a bit unsure about applying the patch...... and I'm not in a big rush to do so. I keep reading about the "bugs" and trouble that people are having....and my philosophy on the new DAW was and is..... if it's working, don't try to fix it. Since everything is currently working fine, then I will keep the X1d update in the event I decided it's a needed thing.

I have yet to have an issue with X1, but i must admit i have not pushed it hard. I have completed two full songs in it. But I have done a dozen or so in RB, and i like that simpler work flow better. Kind of like the old MC 3 days with all those cool RT's and stuff.

I think it's a Driver problem. Who's driving your DAW, Rob? Well, my version of MC4 still seems to work for me, but one of these days, ( Alice ) ........ Bang, Zoom ....

Good to hear from you, Rob. Herb, most of the problems with installing X1d seemed to affect people who chose not to read the instructions in bold red print. The hotfix in question does not apply to X1 Essential. The update from X1cEssential to X1dEssential was quite seamless. No problems here.

I installed it easily - no problems at all - but I did read the instructions which are probably pretty important that you follow them in the correct order... I've had problems with X1c and even with the latest hotfix, but I've not had any problems since installing D. I've only worked with it some, tho.
