Ok, stop now!
Has anyone ever had the project audio stop but the timeline just keeps going and you have to use the taskmanager to end the process and then have to restart? I believe it's happening when I use the solo/mute buttons to audition/check parts. It's just happened now while doing that and using the solo button on track layers to find the best take. Instead of workflow I have workslow. Grrrrrrrrrrrr Have to restart now. Hopefully I won't be back.

I have, yeah, though not for a while. Definitely not in X1d yet, and maybe not even in C.

I'll tell you what, I hesitate to get all IT REALLY MATTERS about this, but I've had a recent upgrading and plug-in removing drive, and am now almost completely 64 bit on everything. I couldn't swear to thins, but I'm starting to think BitBridge has been a cause of quite a lot of woes of this sort. Just speculating here, mind you.

I've had this in C but very rarely and I think perhaps once in D. I don't use bitbridge here, all 64bit plugs.

I have been having problems like that since I upgraded to X1d but I have tried replacing the X1c version of Sonar and it is still happening. For me it normally happens after I have added a VSTi which I have been using Dimension when I have been testing. I'm thinking it might be related to some windows updates I applied last week and I'm just using the 32 bit versions of everything.

Never had this one myself, sounds like a pita to me though. John: I sincerely feel you're onto something there. When Sonar 64 has given me issues, it always seems to be something with that bitbridge server locking up or doing something weird. J-Bridge has solved all of the problems I had there. It's weird though, for others, J-Bridge made things worse. It's amazing how many different anomalies people experience. I know guys that can't make Waves work at all in 64 bit and I've been using them in 64 since Waves 5.7. 9 just came out with 64 bit plugs. We bought 8 a few months ago and never got around to installing them. I just now get them up and running and find out about 9 and 64 bit. Figures.. -Danny

Yes this has happened to me over the years. I can't remember how, when or why 'cause i don't think about much about these type of things, i just soldier on without much thought. As someone pointed out you can still "save" when this happens. I seem to recall having a version of the old "motorboating" issue recently. That one is really annoying and you can't save.

The only holdover is two instances of TTS-1. I use it to play tracks until I record that one and archive the midi track. I also use it for the B note kick. It adds great thump to AD's kick. The weird thing is, I've been working on this project for hours and nothing happened. Then all the sudden, it starts. The only issue I'm having is I updated my Waves plug in and thought something was wrong becuase it should have been 64 bit but it still put it's icon thingy on the taskbar so I thought it was 32 bit. So I uninstalled it, re-installed it and now the plug won't work. The win32 dll is missing or something. Going to call them later and see what they say. I don't think this is the problem though. It still worked for while before it happened.

Danny Danzi When Sonar 64 has given me issues, it always seems to be something with that bitbridge server locking up or doing something weird. Yep, same here. This is why I am not using UAD except in limited fashion. When I mix UAD and some of the older Cakewalk 32bit plugins while running 64 bit Sonar, something eventually goes wrong. I either use only 64 bit plugins or external compression now. No problems in months.

Hi: It is one of those things that X1d is supposed to fix. I you set the time to stop or to begin playing a project other than 0 when you hit the space bar, then sometimes it would not stop. Noel clearly talked about this in the "what X1d will fix". Also a few versions back, it did the same thing when there is no midi track in the project? You all remember that? I am not in front of my computer so I don't know exactly where. But set it back to 0 for both times, fix that. Btw, X1d did not fix it either. I had one the other day. So I reset both times back to 0 again. sincerely.

It has happened to me too. And it was seriously pain at some point. I also had the feeling that Bitbridge was to blame. Not really using it anymore and since D I don't think I've encountered it at all. And if ever, very rarely in C... Can't wait until all my VSTs are 64-bit... whcih I do think they are now... Hm.

It happened again after I posted the bump and just now. The last time I forgot to restart and it came up with a missing audio device. I restarted the AI and it worked. This time when it happened, I restarted the AI while Sonar was still running and that made it stop. Good thing I save multiple BUs. It doesn't seem to affect the project though. Weird?
