Leave Me Alone - New original vocal
This is not meant to be a depressing song, or a song of dispair. Just a song about a guy that has is way of dealing with life's hardships. My wife asked my why I wrote about this and I replied The song has to be about something. I hope you like the song. Daryl Leave Me Alone http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=582907&songID=11520154 Leave Me Alone Why won't the world Just leave me alone This load I've had to carry Has turned my heart to stone That's why I'm asking you Just leave me alone There was a time When everything was bright But everything that's happend Has turned my days to night Don't try to rescue me. Just leave me... Chorus: ..alone. I'm walkin' Down this road to despair. It's a road that leads to ruin But I don't really care The things that matter most Were found but lost somewhere Their memory won't leave me alone They say you can run But you can never hide I might not hide forever But you can say I tried My undercover life's unknown Just leave me alone Don't try to make it better I'm better off this way There is really nothin' That you could do or say I can make it on my own Please leave me.... Chorus: Please just keep on movin' There's nothin' here to see You can't share my troubles That I'll keep a mystery That’s just my comfort zone Just leave me alone Don't worry none about me Don't want no sympathy Don't need no conversation Isolation's what I need Don't call me on the phone Just leave me alone Chorus:

Hi Daryl, Great tune! Excellent job on the lead and backing vox. Your playing and phrasing always remind me of Mark Knopfler but with more of a Jazz tone. Beautiful stuff, man. Nice chromatic approaches. The mix/production sound great to me.

The intro has competitive rhythm parts and it made me lose concentration on what should be the focus. I like the mode you're singing in the verse. Chorus goes the bluegrass route. I also get that same competitive feeling in parts of the verses. I can't figure out what you want me to listen to - the intricate guitar work, or the vocal. I would either chop up the guitar work and place it 'around' the vocal or back it way off and pan it super hard, or reverb the hell out of it to remove the attack. Generally, I think it's very well mixed. Drums could come up, or be punchier to round out the bottom. But I think it all depends on what you're looking to accomplish with it. Definitely a cool track. Reminds me of how much I love music and music production.

Daryl, another great song. I have to echo some of what ruralrocker2010 is saying. Some of the rhythm playing seems to compete, especially at the beginning. Otherwise great tune and mix.

Thanks for nice comments. I've been slow getting back as I just went through a rare sickness for me (I almost never get sick), I think it was some bad food but it was HELL and I'm still not back up to feeling right. Robby, you can make some pretty good music these days on a beginner guitar. That's the custom archtop on the fingerpicking and my Tricked out Cort on the lead. Gary - Wow, some pretty high compliments from a finger picker extrodinaire. Thank you. Rimshot - Thank you. Spacecalf - Thanks, I tend to think of it as more melencholy. Herb - Thanks bud. I almost consider myself more of a songwriter these days than a musician. Lynn - Thank you. I appreciate that. Mark - Thanks friend. Josh - Mark. Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean. The "rhythm" is a fingerpickin' pattern on the chords rather than strumming them. There is also piano and organ but they are just accenting the chords. I did up the volume on the first two measures of the finger picking just to establish the vibe of the chords. Also the only place I play lead with the vocal are just single notes to accent the key note in the chord. The fingerpickin is central to the song and it could have been done as an acoustic number but I wanted it more emotional than that. Sounds like I got the two aproaches in conflict. Frank - Wow you made my day. You put the lyrics at the top. Thank you so much. Daryl

Hi Daryl, you really seem to be honing in on your songwriting & productions . I didn't find that this song was depressing at all, I felt it conveyed a form of loneliness that I feel often . It's the type of loneliness where it seems the whole world and everybody in the whole world has a different set of values that seems foreign to what mine are . so why bother right? .... anyway that's what I got out of it as a listener. you did a good job on this pretty much all across the board all the best, Kenny

Hey Daryl The lead guitar tone really sets the mood of the song IMO. It's the perfect harmony with your lead vocals. GREAT tune! Kev

Lovely song Daryl, my new favourite of yours. Those descending guitar runs are just wonderful, and there's beautiful phrasing throughout. Great stuff.

Thanks guys. I'm still under the weather and just checking in here and there, definately feeling better than I was. Kenny, Thanks Kenny. I find myself drawn the songwriting as much as just the pure joy of playing anymore. You know about the pure joy of just playing for thrill of it, don't you! Kev Thank you. Guitar playing and singing are the two things I can at least sorta kinda be OK at. James, Thank you guitar man, your attention to detail is always appreciated. So glad you liked it. Daryl James

I like the song a bunch. The bass is played nicely but you never seem to give the bass any punch in your mixes. DON'T GET ME WRONG!! The mix is well done but it seems to me that with that bass line with some bottom it would fill the song even better. IMHO, buddy. I love the harmonies!! As always your playing and tone makes for some nice listening.
