Opinions please
I'm about 2 weeks away from ordering a new pc from adk. I've been using my Line 6 hd500 as an interface but would like to free it up. Adk suggested the Presonus 22vsl (they said it has lower latency than the others in that price range). I'm also thinking I'll get Sonar X1 studio. ( I bought MC6 awhile back and really like the flow) My question is....Should I get the 22vsl or something else? I've looked at the Focusrite scarlett 2i2. Sweetwater says my hd500 will sound as good as either one and I should wait untill I can afford a RME. 2 inputs will be enough for me...I like to work alone. What do you think?

Dont get x1 studio..get x1 producer..there is so much more there for only another 100 bucks?..youll regret it.go all out.studio isnt half of what producer is.and when you think.i dont need that half that stuff..once you get into this..your neck high in it..and youll want the other features that are not there..youll be watching an insructional video and be saying "hey..why dont i see that..its cause you only have studio..

The RME audio interfaces sound great and operate well at extremely low ASIO latency, but for just needing 2 inputs, I think their entire product line is overkill. The Presonus 22VSL seems like it will satisfy your current I/O needs and audio quality is going to be good as well as low ASIO latency. The Focusrite 2i2 looks to be about the same but doesn't have MIDI I/O. It might help to see if you can find what each audio interface's software control panel looks like and go with the one that looks more user friendly to you.

What about the Delta 1010LT..10 in 10 out pci virtual studio. You can connect about everything in this audio interface or sound card...Support ASIO, MME 32 bit, Wasapi, WDM/KS, 7.1 surround, Mic in, etc... It works fine for me, no trouble at all.

well as you know many if not all "budget" interfaces switched to the Dice II chipsets a few yrs ago (other chipset became unavailable i think) since switching most of them have crap drivers and cant do low latency this includes presonus interfaces however the new AudioBox VSL have different drivers (someone over there needs a medal, Rick you listening) and does really well 32 buffer actually and with a decent size project as opposed to realistic 256 buffer with most other budget interfaces very impressed!

Well I guess if I'm going to order an ADK...I should listen to Scott! I might wait awhile on the daw and install that myself. Hey Scott is that a huge benefit, having ADK install the daw? OR, will it pretty much be the same if I do it? The PC I've been talking to you guys about is the Qube, with Intel i5 processor, one hard drive for OS and, one 1TB hard drive for audio and project files.

Oh and, Sonar X1 Studio is $199. Producer is $399. I figured I could upgrade later. I'm already a bit over budget ya know! hahaha.
