Joe Meek Tribute
A tribute to Joe Meek. https://illogistical.bandcamp.com/track/the-secret-box-remix Meek was an English record producer, sound engineer and songwriter who pioneered space age and experimental pop music. He also assisted the development of recording practices like overdubbing, sampling and reverb. Meek is considered one of the most influential engineers of all time, being one of the first to exploit the use of recording studios as instruments, and one of the first producers to assert an individual identity as an artist.

Very interesting. You've come up with a nice combination of textures blended well together. Cool melody.

Telstar right? I really like this - it has shades of Joy Division which is very good in my book.

i've read a lot about meek over the years... tape op did a great story on him way back when... i've used the SC2.2, and the PreQ 500 series unit.... all good stuff, for folks who want to see the 'products', https://www.sweetwater.com/store/manufacturer/Joemeek?adpos=1t1&creative=184490690775&device=c&matchtype=b&network=g&gclid=CI3a1PuxzNICFQeewAodWTwIgQ meek was a freak and a genius- On 3 February 1967, using a shotgun owned by musician Heinz Burt, Meek killed his landlady Violet Shenton and then shot himself. wow. cool tune here tweaker, it's a nice clean recording, bass tone sounds real nice. daryl, not telstar, but it definitely has that flavor to it, eh? thanks for sharing tweaker

daryl1968. Yes Telstar was his biggest hit. Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever listened to Joy Division. Thanks for the kind words and feedback Beagle and batsbrew. Yea Meek was indeed a genius and a visionary. I just got Barry Cleveland's new book, Joe Meek's Bold Techniques. http://www.barrycleveland.com/jm-about/ Should be an interesting read.

Thanks Synkro. We've been known to dab into prog territory now and again.
