Weird Midi Problem

I'm running X1D and have started to notice a strange midi problem. I will play a midi track but certain notes won't play even though they are there and the velocity is at 127. If I rewind a bit and play the same part those notes play but then others don't.
 
Is there something I've missed like a setting? Has anyone else experienced this too?

I have had this happen.... Maybe yours is caused by the same thing...Do you have looping turned on? If so, turn looping off and then right back on (or leave it off).. and it might work. at least that does it for me. When I reload the project, I have to do that once again. Hope this helps.

I did try this but no luck. I have found something else.
 
If I click on the left hand side keyboard in the piano roll and click repeatedly on a particular note, the volume fluctuates dramatically. Sometimes the note will be loud, other time non existent.

Do you have anything going on in your Fx chain that could cause this?

Any gating or compression with extreme settings?

Does it affect only 1 track? If so, maybe check the polyphony settings on the synth.

I had this problem with Vsampler some years ago, running the DX version of Vsampler.

Switching to Vst version made it go away.

Some VST instruments that are samplers can have these problems the first time a project is played back, since samples used need to be read from disk. But if it varies from time to time still after a playthrough one could look at the buffering options that the plugins offers. There are different options to optimize usage of memory and performance and balance these two.
