X1 V700 Roland Ryan Munnis etc

So I'm a little disturbed by this.
No idea what the scoop is but I made a template in 8.5. 8 Audio tracks and 8 Midi.
Two synths.
Fantom VS and Studio Instruments drums.
Set each channel for the Fantom and assigned each channel to an insttrument.
Works fine.
Channel 10 drums SI.
Fine.
Save that template and open it in X1.
Press the buttons on the console and the midi note sounds.
If I uncheck Console in Midi preferences the consople wont work.

After a week or moire I decided to call tech support and ask what I need to do.
This is the first I've noticed that Cakewalk had dumped support for the V 700.
Now Rolnd handles it.
Is Ryan Munnis with Roland or Cakewalk?
He has been the guy that's helped me with support in the past and been great.

Just trying to get a working template.
I can continue to use 8.5 P but I'd like to move up since I bought X1P and Expanded.
Is the Roland Cakewalk marriage strained these days?
Thanks anybody

Cake support was right on this .
    Thanks.
The division between CW and Rolnd is worrisome though.
Seems like these products are (or should be) joined  at the hip....

They are joined at the hip. Software inconsistancies persist between versions when transfering entire projects from one version to another. I experienced the same thing when moving projects from version 7 to 8. Once transferred just the audio and Midi data to new tracks in a template I made in the new version, I had no problems. I beleive it's due to labels pointing effects and softsynths to the original version in the original project. It was necessary to create a new project template, install the synths and effects. Then the saved synth and effect patches would work in the new versions project. There's some kind of a rollover tag missing there.

What I meant as "joined at the hip"
is a seamless partnership between Roland and Cakewalk.
When I was on tech support we went through a series of things but at one snag (that we eventually overcame) he said I may need to talk to Roland for that. It'd be more convenient if there was an X1 and hardware line. (They shoulda sported you a system....)

Also I did make a new X1 template it just wasn't working.
    We're good now.

Also I looked at the Zzounds site and the 700R is no longer available.

As to your other comment about the system, sure I'm glad to have the Fantom chip for a few reasons. Stuill it makes a basic IO expensive and to be honest I really like Dimension Pro too and could easily use it as my workhorse, especially with the other soft synths available.
