Well, like I used to tell my (then young) children. You know where I'd put everything if I owned it? EVERYWHERE. Same principal I suppose. quantumeffect will have to weigh in on this one.

I used to have a really nice Focusrite mic-pre, but it would get SOOOOO hot that I was afraid it was going to catch my studio on fire so I sold it. Not sure what was up with that!
