bandontherun19 I don't think so... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNzbA7RBGWI Yeah, I was just watching that very video today thinking how I really want to get a great delay. I think it might be this Fab delay or that complicated and versatile Rob Papen thing. http://www.robpapen.com/rp-delay.html RP-Delay is a unique delay which is heavily focused on some very special features, including brand new fx routing! For instance, the sound reverser can reverse the input, while simultaneously reversing one of the delay lines. The reverse sound can also be triggered with your keyboard, generating totally new sounds, and sending them into the reverser with its own filter and distortion! You can have 6 delay lines with 8 active multi-mode filters all operating at once in each of several delay models. Of course, we included basic delay models like a simple mono delay and a stereo delay, but also a tape-sound delay which allows you to change tape length without any clicks. The delays, filters, and reverser can all be modulated by the built-in modulators. There are 4 modulation sequencers, 4 LFO's, and 4 envelopes, complete with several trigger options!

I own it and can verify that it is a fabulous plugin just like all of their stuff. I just picked up Saturn and love it. FabFilter stuff is not only incredibly well done but the interface is a joy to work with. I highly recommend all of their stuff. I own all of the Pro stuff plus Saturn, Timeless 2, and Volcano 2. All top shelf. You would also look at the Valhalla stuff by the way. UberMod is really well done and much cheaper. Ken

Timeless2 does just about everything you can possibly imagine a delay being capable of doing, and then some. They didn't leave anything out. But I gotta tell ya, I downloaded the demo and played with it for a week, and decided to pass on it. I realized that I have never once felt a need to have six modulators on a delay. Or expected a delay to also server as a flanger. Randomization, a LPF, tempo sync, separate L-R controls -basic stuff - and I'm happy. Truth is the humble Sonitus Delay does almost everything I need -- if only they'd fix a couple of the permabugs!

I do have RP-Delay which I grabbed for $5 last summer I think. But I can't really bring myself to use it. Like Bit says above, a good old regular delay like Sonitus does pretty much all I need. I can see how those fancy ones can be useful if one really is into programming complex things and uses them almost as a musical instrument.

I picked up that five-dollar RP-Delay, too. Had fun with it for a couple of days before sending it to the bottom of the toolbox. The mark of a great delay plugin is not how many functions it has, but how quick and easy it is to dial in the effect you're hearing in your head.

Timeless2 is a wonder...probably the best out there. EchoBoy from Sound Toys is also great...but still just 32bit.

That is a pretty fancy plug, but what I appreciate most is the fact that someone pushes it's capabilities to really finesse some amazing and subtle treatment out of it. That's a lot of bang for the buck.

The mark of a great delay plugin is not how many functions it has, but how quick and easy it is to dial in the effect you're hearing in your head. I think the primary criticism of RP Delay or Timeless is the complexity of software that consumes time. Complexity can create options, but it does not lead to convenience and productivity. Some people will like it, but most of us just want to make music without spending countless hours tweaking everything. Nevertheless, I would spend 5 dollars to buy RP Delay and at least use the presets.
