Ashes, The Rain & I

Lately, I've been seeing a commercial for Nissan autos that uses the string section towards the end of this great old song by The James Gang:

Ashes, The Rain & I
That got me wondering if that theme is original or "borrowed" from a classical composer.  Does anyone have an idea about this?  I searched and didn't find anything regarding this question.

Thanks,
Jan

Oh great. Rock&Roll ripping off the classics. What's next? People sniping up pieces of songs and using them as part of their "creation"?

Speaking of CJ.... I wonder how he is doing on his recording session at Abbey Road Studio.
I remember him saying he was flying to London to record a band called Tonepoets.
