Why I Come Here
It's as deep as you can handle, if you're in a reflective mood, and you pay attention. It's as shallow as you need it to be, when you just want to lighten up. You want brains, it's here. You want brainless, it's here (in abundance). It always brings a smile when I'm down. And food for thought when I'm not. It's a confidant when I need advice. A big brother (am an only child) when I need a kick in the arse. A critic, when I need criticism. A fan when I need praise. This would be one of my first stops if I won the lottery. Or if the biopsy comes back positive. The makeup of the zoo here leans toward listeners, and those who care. Really. Those who use humor to rant back against an uncaring world. World class musicians, poets, and comedians. Those who stand by what's right (I know, corny but true). Some visitors don't get it. The buffoonery. The inanity. What a waste of time. Some realize that there's sanity in the silliness, reason in the nonsense. Some realize that it's an honor to be in this company. Some get it. I think I do. Do I, Bapu? To the CH detrators, humbly, you're wrong. At least my experience is worlds apart from what you've said. Though I think my wishes are safe, I hope things stay just as they are. Sorry - an introspective Saturday...

Sounds good to me. And pretty much matches my thoughts too.

We've been on the road for almost a year now - people around me speak languages I don't understand and I can't even read the name of the streets or the ingredients on the boxes here. The CH in all its glory is essential to my "sanity" - as insane as it may sound.

Having been in similar situations on many, many occasions, I feel your pain. Always felt like such an idiot asking if they spoke English. Most in the UK, of course, just smiled and shook their heads.
