No waveform drawn in audio clips - only Record x (Busy)

Hello,

Does anyone know why Sonar would only display "Record x (Busy)" (where x is a number) in audio clips? Audio recording and playback works, but there is no waveform displayed.

This only happens when I run Sonar under a new (non-admin) user account. I don't encounter the problem in my primary account (which is an admin user).  What do I need to do to get this to work with a separate, non-admin user account?

Thanks
David

Try clearing your picture cache and see if that cures it.

Perhaps the folder with the picture cache does not allow writing by a non-admin user.

I would create a new folder on your drive for the picture cache. Go into the properties of the folder in windows explorer and add the non-admin user, checking boxes for full control.

Then go into Sonar preferences and point the picture cache at that new folder. It will work the way you want, hopefully.

    Thanks all.

Adding "Full control" privileges for the Users group to the existing Picture Cache directory (under C:\Cakewalk Projects) did the trick. I would have never guessed this on my own, so I really appreciate the help!

    Cheers
