X-RAY 2Monitors & Plugins

When I move my plugins over to the second monitor and then fade them out with X-RAY they stay behind what ever screen I have on the second monitor. If I have the mixer on the 2nd monitor I can't get the plugins back using X-RAY, I have to click on the plugin in the FX bin. If I click on a next plugin the other one I just had showing goes away.

Is there a way to rectify this or is this normal. I just started using two monitors not long ago.

I don't think there's a way to change that, no. Plug ins are always on top of Sonar *apart from* any floating windows. I agree that it's not ideal.

Thanks John, I think it's something they need to look in to.

Actually, you can sort of kludge SONAR into working the way that you want. Instead of floating the window that you want to place on the 2nd monitor, un-maximize the main SONAR window and stretch it across both monitors. Then resize the track view on the 1st montior and whatever other window you want to place on the 2nd screen. In my case, I have the console view on the 2nd monitor. Using this technique plugin windows will stay on top and X-Ray will work as you would expect it to. You can then save the window locations as a screenset.

Looks nice eBlue, I must be doing something wrong cause when I put the mixer on the 2nd monitor it still dominates and leave the plugins in the background. I'll play a little more with it 2morrow. I have about 12 plugins on the 2nd monitor. I can see them when I stretch track view to both screens, but as soon as I undock the mixer it stays on top of the plugs.
