Publishing Music

Finally getting the sound of the band down. Now, I want to publish some music and share it on the internet (email as attachment to freinds and family, maybe on Facebook etc.) Do I save the songs as WAV or MP3? Any advantages disadvantages? Looking for some savvy insights and tips. Thanks, Wayne

MP3 if you plan to attach it to email or upload it to one of the streaming sites. most of the email programs and most of the streaming sites do not allow waves since they are too large... most max out at about 10MB.

I've had a few mp3's rejected by streaming sites because the 320kbs files were over 10MB. Re-configure the file to a lower bit rate and under 10MB and it's OK.

If you want to send waves to anyone, use something like www.sendspace.com or drop box.... On sendspace, after the upload, it returns a clickable link which you can email to friends. They in turn can follow the link and DL the wave in a matter of a few seconds.

AS far as posting to FaceBook, if you use www.soundclick.com as soon as you finish uploading the file, there is an icon which allows you to immediately post the song automatically to Face Book with one click.
