X1 Essential installation process - 64-bit option? plus - how stable is it with new update

Hi everyone, I haven't used my X1 Essential since I downloaded the free upgrade (from Home Studio XL back in late 2010)... but I decided to install it finally to mess around with it. I didn't see an option for a 64-bit installation... it just installed. Is there a 64-bit edition of X1 Essential, and if so, how do I install it? My version of X1 Essential was a download directly from my account at the Cakewalk store. So I don't know if I need a special disc or anything. Can anyone verify? Btw, the reason I'm wanting to give it a whirl is because I have heard how "rock solid stable" the X1d update is... I'd love to hear some testimonials and proof of this.... Also, what do all of you guys think of X1 (Essential, Studio or Producer)? How are you liking the migration from Sonar 8 or Sonar Home Studio 7? Thanks, everyone!

Essential is 32 bit only AFAIK. The other things you ask about are all over the forums with dozens of threads.

Essentials is 32 bit only but works great with Windows 7-64 bit. I've been on Essentials all week-end getting to know the program, and I am completely impressed with it. X1 worked great and was easy to learn after watching a few instructional videos I found on You Tube. This is a fabulous program once you learn how to use it. Solid as a rock, not one problem did I have.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I did search but I didn't find much... maybe I used the wrong terms. So Studio and Producer are definitely 64-bit, if I wanted to install both? Good to know. :) Look forward to digging more into the program. I wish the program utilized more ram than the max of 3GB (32-bit)... but, Home Studio's been great for me, even with upwards of 16 tracks with lots of plug-ins and a few VSTs (pre-freeze)...

X1 Studio and Produce are both x32 and x64. You can install them side by side if you wish.

I've been using Sonar x64 since V7 and haven't even installed x32 since then. i.e. completely x64 from V8 onwards. I had issues with V7 but everything since then has been "rock solid" including X1 from day one for me. Some had issues early on, although I don't think the x64 versions was much to do with that.

I personally haven't found any x32 plugs that I can't get working with either bitbridge or jbridge. I much prefer jbridge which is extremely cheap and there is a demo available as well.
