midi notes only playing on beginning of measure

Hello forum, I just installed Music Creator 6 onto my laptop and I seem to be having problems with it reading MIDI notes. It only wants to read the first note of every measure, even if I "paint" it in manually in the PRV. When it comes to drums I usually try to put everything as a 1/16 note because I like the space in between each note. Even then it only plays the first note of the measure. Do I need to change some setting somewhere? Or is it a bigger problem, like soundcard issues?
I'm familiar with MC4 and MC2. We have those installed on a different computer, though.
 
The laptop I'm trying to run MC6 on is an HP Pavilion dv6-2173cl Entertainment Notebook with all of the stock components in it; Intel i3 Core processor and whatnot.

    Let me see if I understood your problem.  You are 'recording' a track using the PRV to paint the notes.  You are able to enter multiple notes into the trck over multiple measures, but only the first note of each measure plays? or is it that not all of the notes are played?
     
    1) does the patch that you have selected for the synth play the notes you are painting? (not all patches play all notes)
    2) is the note that the patch plays have a longer attack than a measure( slow strings with tripplets)?
    3) have you checked your MIDI-preparation buffer (Setting under "MIDI-buffers..prepare using...")? Try doubling where it is at. 
    4) is the sound output by the synth have such a high level that it is stopping (droping out) the audio engine?

    Thanks! New software, learning curve, I guess. The buffer worked, everything configured fine. Even my Alesis MIDI controller runs like a champ now!
