Apply screensets to other projects?

  Hi
I am not sure if I am missing something, or if I want to do is not possible.
I have setup my default template project "normal" with the screensets that suit me.
so, when I start a new project, screestes are setup as i need to.
However, how do I apply those screensets to older projects?
I see the "import screensets" in the screenset drop down menu, but it is always greyed out, and I don't see where to "export" screenset settigns in the first place.
Is it just something that can't be done?
Cheers,
Vinny

You need to load a project to import its screen sets.

A top tip on how to pick and choose which screensets get imported is the fact that locking protects a screenset. So if you wanted to import all the screensets from another project except say screensets 5 & 7, simply lock SS5 & SS7 on the target project. All the others will be imported except those two.

I use that quite a lot but a screenset library manager would be better.....

That's annoying, because I have locked all my screensets in my "normal" song template. means i need to unlock them first and then import them. Thanks for the tip (and the videos) fastbikerboy

If it's any help I have a keyboard shortcut set up as the lock/unlock toggle which is very handy. If only CW ever implement some sort of always visible SS lock state indicator it will be even better. I lock and unlock mine on the fly quite a lot depending on what I'm doing but need to check before to find out the current state which is a workflow slower..

I put it in as a FR a few days after first trying X1 and realising how great screensets are. Have I ever mentioned how great I think they are before.

Glad you've found the videos helpful.

Lets hope Cakewalk implements your suggestions. you are right, there should definitly be a visual indicator letting you know if it is locked or not without having to go to the drop down menu of the screenset toolbar.
